Instructions & Notes

1. Please make sure to redeem your e-ticket in advance via the Travel Contents App. (Once redeemed, ticket cannot be cancelled.)

※Please note! This product must be redeemed at least one day in advance.
2. Kimono/Yukata must be returned before 17:00 on the same day
3. In kimono season, people wear tabi socks and zori sandals, while in yukata season, people wear wooden geta on bare feet.
4.Tabi and drawstring bags can be taken home as souvenirs.
5.Hair accessories are available for rental for ￥990.
6. This activity is not recommended for anyone with certain medical conditions such as high blood pressure, epilepsy, etc.

Kumamoto Castle is one of Japan’s top cherry blossom viewing spots. Every spring, the castle grounds are blanketed in pink sakura, attracting visitors for hanami (cherry blossom viewing). Kumamoto Castle remains a cultural treasure, offering visitors a deep dive into Japan’s feudal past and an inspiring story of recovery. Despite severe damage from the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake, ongoing restoration has made parts of the main keep open, symbolizing resilience and community spirit. The restoration of Kumamoto Castle's entire tower has been completed, and starting from April 26, 2021, visitors can enjoy the fully renewed exhibits and the stunning view from the top floor. The updated exhibits primarily focus on the history of the castle tower, covering its construction, destruction during the Satsuma Rebellion, reconstruction in 1960, and the damage and recovery from the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake. Information is presented through models and videos in a clear and easy-to-understand way. To enhance your visit, Kumamoto Castle offers a free mobile application called ""Kumamoto Castle Official App."" This app provides audio and subtitles for the explanatory texts and video content of the castle's permanent exhibition. Additionally, on the top floor of the tower, the AR function allows you to enjoy a panoramic view overlaid with old photographs from the Meiji era. We highly recommend downloading the app before your visit.

""Petting Animal Kingdom"" is an interactive zoo where visitors can directly interact with animals such as beavers and capybaras. These adorable animals offer a deeply relaxing and educational experience. The park houses around 35 species, including rare animals that are not commonly seen, and visitors can enjoy activities such as feeding and hands-on interaction. One of the highlights is that beaver feeding experiences are available at only a few facilities across Japan. During the cold winters in Aso, warm water is supplied into the ponds, allowing the beavers to relax as if they are enjoying a hot spring. ※ Daily updates are posted on Instagram.

As a branch of the “Kuma Shochu Specialty Store,” this shop was founded in 1897 (Meiji 30). It offers Kuma shochu, a rice-based distilled spirit with a history of over 500 years, as well as liqueurs, plum wine, and various miscellaneous goods. In addition, paid tasting experiences and label design workshops are also available.
